I'll take good care of my new iPad, right?
You take your latest paycheck to the bank, eagerly awaiting getting some cold hard cash in your hands. You drive to your nearest electronics store and pick out the exact new Apple iPad that you've had your eyes on for weeks. You know exactly what you're getting; one of the most sophisticated pieces of technology available on the market, a crisp, beautiful display and a brushed aluminum back, complete with the fastest in wireless internet technology, 4G wireless access. The sales representative politely asks "would you care for one of our many iPad Cases?" Thinking about it, you politely decline; you take good care of your items, right?
Leaving the store with iPad in tow, you rush home to play with your brand new purchase. You carefully slide open the box, pealing off the protective plastic sheath Apple uses to ensure its safety during shipping. You play with it for a while and then have to go for an errand, so you leave your new tablet sitting prominently on your coffee table. However, as you grab your bag to run out the door, it brushes along the edge of the coffee table, ever so slightly nudging your brand new iPad. The next thing you know, the iPad is crashing to the floor. It is a moment of ultimate clarity; time seems to have stopped and you can see the technological wonder rushing to the floor, but you are completely immobilized.
With a resounding crash, the iPad hits the floor on one of the vertical edges, causing the glass to crack slightly along the corner. Deeply upsetting, sure, but nothing too major. You carefully pick up the iPad, futilely brush it off a bit, and resolve yourself to set it back on the table. Leaving for your errand, you lock the door behind you and secure your iPad until you can come back to it later.
Little did you know, however, that while you were gone, your cat had decided that it wanted to play with your new iPad as well. You come back to the iPad back on the floor, fifteen feet away from the coffee table you left it on. You stoop down to pick it up and realize that there are now scratches all over both the front and back. Apparently, your cat enjoys playing the most expensive game of floor hockey imaginable. And the next thing you know, the words of the sales representative come hauntingly back into your mind; "would you care for one of our iPad Cases?"
You realize now that perhaps you should have listened to what he had to say. "They offer some great protection for your device. They even can put the device to sleep or wake it up depending on how you open or close the case, a nice little feature to have. Additionally, you can customize your device so that it doesn't look like the millions of others just like it out there. All that, and it's an incredibly inexpensive way to protect your device and investment." Shaking your head and realizing your folly, you come to the epiphany that, perhaps, buying one of the many iPad cases available would have saved you endless frustration and disappointment.
